The future of automation and robotics: RoboDEX Tokyo 2020 Report.

Robotics is of course a rising industry especially as companies push for better and smarter automation. This is particularly true for Japan who is facing an aging population and decreasing workforce. Due to this, there are several Robot focused exhibitions hosted throughout the year. The Robot Development & Application EXPO or RoboDEX is one of those expos. This is our post event report on the show.

The 4th Robot Development & Application EXPO Tokyo or RoboDEX Tokyo was held in Tokyo Big Sight from February 12-14 and was held in conjunction with the Wearable Device & Technology Expo and Smart Factory Expo. The show, which is held twice a year, has been growing every year since its establishment in 2017. The show featured over 270 exhibitors, including many overseas brands, showing off their robotic arms, systems, End of Arm tooling (EoAT), collaboration robots (Cobots) and more! This year the Tokyo show saw over 45,000 Visitors.

The show featured 5 main themes this year: AI, Robot Introduction Support, EoAT, Smart Logistics & AVG, and Sports and Healthcare Solutions

The next RoboDEX will be held from October 21-23 in Nagoya and will be a great chance to expand your business in Western Japan where there are a lot of manufacturers looking to compact labor shortages with automating their production lines. Japan holds some of the most top-class makers in the robotics industry and Japan is surely a market you don’t want to miss out on if you are a robot maker.
