Summary
Our survey results find that in business in Vietnam, information collection is primarily done through digital means of SNS, internet searches, and websites.
Conferences and exhibitions, conversely, are utilized as opportunities to see and experience services in real time, as well as to talk and negotiate.
Expectations for conferences, however, appear to be on the rise as Ho Chi Minh local transportation continues to develop. A sign of this is the「Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center」, were this event was held.
With a planned 40,000 ㎡ of inner exhibition space and 20000 ㎡ of outer space, as well as the connecting conference structures, hotels, and office buildings, this structure is in the process of becoming the largest complex convention center in Ho Chi Minh. Although currently in the midst of construction, a portion of the inner facility is already open for use.
Thinking about local business, then, a proactive approach to Facebook information sharing and multi-language capable web sites appears to be a key in Vietnam's city hubs. Following this with wise utilization of the “real-life communication arena” of conferences and exhibitions creates a recipe for success.
